Pop Warner team wins 2nd Super Bowl

Congratulations to the Canton Pop Warner C team and head coach Kevin Hagan for winning their second straight Hockomock Super Bowl championship with an impressive win over a tough King Phillip team. The final score was 16-6.

Canton twins finish 1-2 at junior tennis tourney

Congratulations go out to Canton residents Brooke and Taylor Alessi, age 10, who were crowned 2013 Junior Tournament tennis champion and runner-up, respectively, at the Ballymeade Country Club in Falmouth. Brooke and Taylor are pictured above with their tennis instructor, Andrew Zappala. Brooke and Taylor are the granddaughters of Canton Citizen columnist Joe DeFelice.

Volleyball players win gold at Bay State Games

Congratulations to the Southeast girls’ volleyball team, winners of the gold medal at the Bay State Summer Games. The team included three girls form Canton: Avery Devoe (back row, third from left), Olivia Devoe (front row, far left), and Jenny Weston (back row, far right). The head coach was Gary Patch.
