William H. Curran, 81, formerly of Canton, of Framingham, passed away December 31 at Riverbend in South Natick.

Born in Norwood, he was raised in Canton and graduated from Boston College High School and St. John’s Seminary. He was a Catholic priest in the Archdiocese of Boston from 1957 to 1981, serving in Hyde Park, St. Kevin’s in Dorchester, and St. Patrick’s in Natick. After retiring from the priesthood, he worked as the home manager for the Deaf Community Center in Natick for many years. He loved Jazz music and was an avid fan of all the Boston sports teams.

Beloved father of Darci L. Curran and her husband, Michael Mayzer, of Wayland. Grandfather of Christian Curran of Wayland. Brother of Capt. Robert W. Curran, Ret. USN, and his wife, Joanne, of VA, Paul J. Curran of Canton, Anne M. Gauthier and her husband, Robert, of North Andover, and the late James Curran. Brother-in-law of Dorothy Curran of Canton. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street, Friday, January 4, from 4-8 p.m. Funeral mass in St. John the Evangelist Church in Canton Saturday morning at 10:30. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery, Canton. Donations may be made in his memory to the Learning Center for the Deaf, 848 Central St., Framingham, MA 01701.
