Town’s Walk, Bike & Hike Committee seeks new members

By

Are you interested in promoting a more bike and pedestrian-friendly Canton? If so, we invite you to join Canton’s Walk, Bike & Hike Committee, which is seeking new members as it begins the 2026-27 year. Organized in the fall of 2015, WBH is proud of its many accomplishments, including:

* Providing bike/ped accommodation input to the Route 95/Dedham St. Interchange Project, and oversight to the multi-use path from Copperworks to Canton Junction.

* Working with consultants on the Trails Master Plan and the Open Space & Recreation Plan; working with town’s Engineering Department on the draft Canton trails map; creating a Guide to Canton Trails that is posted on the town website.

* Coordinating with the Revere Heritage Park team to assure appropriate regulations, signage and bike racks; advocating for bike racks throughout Canton.

* Spearheading five town-wide Cleanup Days and six Trail Maintenance Days.

All Canton residents are invited to participate in the upcoming Trail Maintenance Day on Saturday, October 17. Go to the WBH Facebook page for the signup link.

If you are interested in joining the committee, the next meeting will be Thursday, October 15, at 7:30 p.m. on Zoom. The agenda will be posted on the town website the day prior. For an application to join the committee, contact the Select Board office.
