Margaret M. “Peg” Cotter (Brosnahan), 94, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on January 26, 2018.

cotter, margretBorn and raised in Dorchester, she attended Girls High School. Married in 1948 to her late husband, Jim, they lived in Hyde Park for a short while before moving to Canton in 1955. She worked as an operator for the NE Telephone Co. and Spring Valley Country Club along with the James Ferrera and Son Co. and Cumberland Farms corporate offices.

Peg was a devout Catholic and member of the Catholic Women’s Club. She and four of her friends would travel to the Marion Manor in South Boston on a monthly basis to sing for the residents who were celebrating birthdays that month. Her true passion was painting — she loved to paint and enjoyed gifting her paintings to people she knew.

Beloved wife of the late James J. Cotter she is survived by her children: Danny Cotter and his wife, Irene, of Easton, Jim Cotter and his wife, Traci, of Plymouth, John Cotter and his late wife, Andrea, of Easton, Matt Cotter and his wife, Jayne, of Easton, Mary Lapanus and her husband, Bill, of NH, and Meg Peterson and her late husband, John, of East Bridgewater. Sister of the late Daniel and John Brosnahan. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Dorothy and Bette Brosnahan, her cherished 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and her dear friends Ann Shone and Pat Uliano.
