It was a day of hard work and camaraderie as residents and town officials gathered at the Earl Newhouse Waterfront on Saturday for the inaugural Earl Newhouse Waterfront Community Day. Organized by Selectman Tom Theodore and the Earl Newhouse Waterfront Task Force, the event was deemed an “incredible success” by the Canton Parks & Recreation Department. According to volunteer George Comeau, the energetic crew “cleaned up the picnic grove, painted grills, hauled three trailers full of fallen brush, raked, improved trails, and picked up trash.” Participants also enjoyed a cookout and free raffles with prizes including picnic baskets and fishing gear. “This was a community effort,” remarked Comeau. “The abutters, neighbors, and fellow citizens proved that we can work together. Thank you Tom, for your leadership and vision.”
