Village Shoppes statement on robbery

By

The Village Shoppes issued the following statement concerning the recent robbery and assault that occurred in the Shaw’s parking lot on July 14. The statement does not appear in the July 20 edition of the Canton Citizen because it was received after we had already gone to press.

We, of course, are very concerned about this recent incident as our first priority is to keep our parking area as safe as possible for our customers. In addition to working with Shaw’s to more clearly communicate the presence of their security cameras, we are working closely with the Canton Police Department who have committed to increased patrols. We are happy to report the perpetrator has been arrested.

We are in constant communication with the center’s tenants and continue to encourage them to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity to both the Canton Police and our management team.

The Village Shoppes is dedicated to providing our shoppers with a safe shopping environment and will strive to do so by continually monitoring incidents and quickly resolving them if they arise.

We are very appreciative of the Canton Police Department’s continued efforts in maintaining security at the center and their swift attention and resolution of the recent incident.
