Trustees to present ‘A Concert of Thanks’

By

On Tuesday, November 24, from 7-9 p.m., the Trustees of Reservations will host an evening of classical and contemporary music and light hors d’oeuvres in celebration of Eleanor Cabot Bradley’s Thanksgiving tradition of preparing the holiday meal for family and friends at her home in Canton.

The Gasparyan Quartet will perform at the Bradley Estate.

The Gasparyan Quartet will perform at the Bradley Estate.

Bradley was proud of serving foods she raised and grew in the family’s fields and gardens, and was known for the meats and fruits she had prepared. Later this fall and winter, the Trustees will share some of her seasonal favorites. The November 24 evening will include a concert by the Gasparyan Quartet, a multigenerational family of musicians whose repertoire will appeal to all ages!

Jasmin Gasparyan is a winner of many international piano competitions, including the “Aram Khachaturian” piano competition in Armenia and “Chantal Auber” international competition in France. She has performed with orchestras in Armenia, Greece, France, and the former Yugoslavia. Mr. Gasparyan is a professional guitarist and guitar teacher. For the past 10 years he has taught at the New Conservatory of Thessaloniki and State Drama Conservatory in Greece. Their children, Emily, 13, and Daniel, 14, are international violin competition award winners. Emily has performed as a soloist with orchestras in Austria, Italy and Greece, and Daniel was most recently a member of the Megaro Youth Symphony Orchestra of Thessaloniki, Greece.

The family will play both classical and modern music, including works of composers Verdi, Tchaikovsky, Shostakovich, and Chopin and such popular tunes as “Garden Tango,” “Only You,” and songs from the musical Hello Dolly.

The Bradley Estate is located at 2468 Washington Street (Route 138) in Canton. For reservations or more information about the upcoming concert, please contact bradley@thetrustees.org or call 508-636-4693 ext. 5011. Tickets are $15 per adult for Trustees members and $25 per adult for nonmembers. Children are free.
