Cumby’s helps #StrikeOutALS

On Friday, September 19, Rose Cravens of Canton (center) presented a check to the ALS Association for $54,000 on behalf of her employer, Cumberland Farms. The Framingham-based convenience and gasoline retailer donated 20 cents for each bag of ice sold in their stores between August 15 and Labor Day — and the response was tremendous, with over 270,000 bags sold during that span. Rose, who works as a graphic artist in the Cumberland Farms corporate office, lost her husband, Billy, a longtime Recreation Department employee and former CHS football star, to Lou Gehrig’s disease (ALS) on April 28.
