Residents invited to help “Keep Canton Beautiful’
By Canton CitizenCanton citizens of all ages are invited to participate in Keep Canton Beautiful, the 5th Annual Townwide Canton Cleanup, on Saturday, April 4, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.
Keep Canton Beautiful is a community of people who live and work in Canton and want to keep our town as beautiful and litter-free as possible.
Canton’s Walk, Bike & Hike Committee is partnering with the Canton Department of Public Works (DPW), Canton School Department and Canton Parks and Recreation to host the event, during which teams of volunteers will be cleaning up a number of locations around town including all the public schools, town center, Devoll Field, Canton Junction, Chapman Street, Mechanic Street, Green Street, and Turnpike Street/Route 138 (must be 18+).
The Canton Parks & Recreation Department will host a thank-you cookout immediately following the cleanup at the high school football field for all volunteers. Welcoming volunteers to the cookout will be Canton’s own Michael Charles, who will perform as the DJ and entertain the crowd with magic tricks.
Donations are critical to the success of the cleanup. We appreciate the generosity of our past sponsors, including Boston Mutual Life Insurance Company, Bank of Canton, the Canton Association of Business & Industry (CABI), Draper Properties, Evacuumstore.com, Lamacchia Realty, Orchard Cove, Dr. Alan M. Rapoport, Rose’s Cleaning, and Trillium Brewing Company.
For more information, to volunteer for the April 4 cleanup, or to support our efforts, email keepcantonbeautiful@gmail.com. Residents can also sign up in advance at keepcantonbeautiful.org.
