Vozzella, Norma M.
By Canton CitizenNorma Marie Vozzella, 88, of Canton, died peacefully on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at the Dr. Ruth McLain Hospice Home in Braintree.
Born in Milford on September 8, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Gaetano and Mary (Bertoni) Vozzella.
Norma was a resident of Canton for the past seven years and formerly resided in Weymouth for many years.
She grew up in Franklin and graduated from Franklin High School, Class of 1955. Norma continued her education at Boston University School of Nursing, receiving her nursing degree, and later went on to earn her nurse practitioner degree. Before her retirement, she was employed for many years by the city of Boston as a pediatric nurse practitioner at the Whittier Street Health Center.
Norma was an avid reader with a fondness for mysteries. She enjoyed doing puzzles of any kind. The Sunday crosswords were often missing when she was nearby! She loved music, movies, theater, and younger years spent skiing in NH and summertime at the Cape.
Most people describe Norma as sweet and soft spoken. Her sisters describe her as a caring, kind, generous, strong-willed, and fiercely independent person who will be greatly missed.
She is survived by four sisters, Fran Vozzella and her husband, Fred Gay, of Acton, Patricia Morrison of Hooksett, NH, Elaine Costello of Franklin, and Paula Vozzella of Canton; a step-sister, Rosemary Rhoades of Franklin; and eight nieces and nephews, Mary, Beth, Annmarie, Katherine, Martha, Mike, Matt and Dina. She is also survived by many grand-nieces and nephews and her longtime caregiver Margaret Grealish. She was the sister-in-law of the late Stephen Morrison and Michael Costello.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, December 16, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin, 131 Main Street in Franklin (ginleyfuneralhomes.com), followed by a funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Church, One Church Square in Franklin, at noon. Burial will follow at the parish cemetery.
