Canton Citizen salutes 2025 spring sports all-stars
By Canton CitizenThe Canton Citizen is pleased to announce its 2025 spring all-star selections. The full list, complete with write-ups for each athlete, appears in the July 17 print edition as part of the Citizen’s annual spring sports wrap-up section.
Girls Spring MVP
Chloe Dubuisson (Track & Field)
Only a junior, Dubuisson has already solidified herself as an all-time great with a historic 2025 campaign that culminated with a Davenport MVP award and a trip to the New England Track & Field Championships. In addition to winning a slew of medals in the hurdles events, including both a league and Division 4 title in the 100-meter distance and a silver in the 300 hurdles at the NE meet, she also showed off her remarkable versatility with record-setting performances as part of the 4×200, 4×400 and sprint medley relays, individual and team heptathlon, individual pentathlon, and 200-meter dash.
“Chloe is one of the most versatile athletes our program has ever had,” noted head coach Anna Amico. “Her ability to score points in the hurdles, sprints, throws, and jumps was a major factor in our team finishing 4-1 on the season. She is a team-first athlete. Chloe has an undeniable competitive edge and desire to be the absolute best she can be.”
Boys Spring MVP
Teddy Shuman (Baseball)
One of several deserving candidates for this honor along with Bulldog track standouts JJ Faulk and Kareem Chaplin, Shuman gets the nod for season MVP honors by virtue of his two-way contributions and overall leadership for a resurgent CHS baseball club that racked up double-digit victories and qualified for the state playoffs.
While best known by Bulldog fans for his exploits on the ice during hockey season, Shuman has quietly put together an outstanding high school baseball resume — and he leveled up this year both as a hitter and a pitcher, leading the entire Hockomock League with a .423 batting average while emerging as one of the league’s most effective relief pitchers (1.24 ERA).
“He’s a fierce competitor and a vocal leader,” head coach David Walsh said of Shuman. “He plays the game hard and is feared by teams when he gets in the box.”
