Milton Players present Deathtrap

The Milton Players will perform their winter show, Deathtrap, written by Ira Levin and directed by Victoria Kirichok, on Friday and Saturday, April 25 & 26 and May 2 & 3 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, May 4 at 2 p.m. in the Brayton Auditorium at the Pappas Rehabilitation Hospital for Children, 3 Randolph Street in Canton. Canton Library Tours

The Trustees of the Canton Public Library will be offering public tours on select dates in April and May. The tours are intended to inform and showcase the planned repairs and renovations to the interior of the library. Tours will be offered on April 27 following the Library 5K and May 10 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. No reservations are needed — just stop by on any of these dates and times and a trustee or Friend of the Library will walk you through.

Neponset River Mind-Body-Spirit Center

The Neponset River Mind-Body-Spirit Center, a program of the new Neponset River Unitarian Universalist Community of FPUU-Canton, offers free monthly programming to the public! The first Thursday of the month (next is 5/1) from 1-2 p.m. is a “Get Your Body Groove On!” group, with accompanying videos and engaging fun dance exercises. Participants reflect diversity of age, body type/size, races and ability (including while sitting). The second and fourth Thursdays (4/24 and 5/8) are a Zen Buddhist meditation group from 1-2 p.m. in Thich Nhat Hanh’s style of practice. The third Thursday is a nondenominational theme-based “Exploring Your Spirituality” group from 1-2 p.m. that’s grounded in conversation, music and the arts. The theme for April’s session is “Joy.” There is also a Fun Friday Inspirational Film screening scheduled for May 2 from 3 to 5:30 p.m. All groups are free and open to the public, and drop-ins are welcome! DEHS Support Groups

The Department of Elder & Human Services hosts several monthly support groups that are open to all. Join us on the second Tuesday of the month at 1 p.m. for our Caregivers Support Group (next is 5/13); the fourth Wednesday of the month at 10:45 a.m. for our Low Vision Support Group (next is 5/28); the second and fourth Friday of the month at 10 a.m. for our drop-in Grief Support Group (next is 4/25); and the fourth Thursday of the month at 1 p.m. for our Memory Café (next is 4/24). Friends of the Library Meetings

Current and prospective members of the Friends of the Canton Public Library are invited to attend one of their upcoming meetings in the Aldrich Room. Community Club of Canton Meetings

The Community Club of Canton meets monthly at the Canton Historical Society from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the second Tuesday of every month (except for June through August). A Night of Spirit

Join professional medium Liam Galvin, with spiritual medium Karen Gillis, for a fundraiser for at First Parish UU-Canton, 1508 Washington Street, on Friday, April 25. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the program runs from 7-9 p.m. Galvin is well known throughout the U.S. and U.K. for his gentle manner and ethical spiritual work. A group experience format rather than a private reading, this can be both a fun and a tender experience to try for those interested. Neponset River Spring Cleanup

Join the Neponset River Watershed Association (NepRWA) for its annual Neponset River Spring Cleanup on Saturday, April 26 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. Volunteers will spread out across the watershed to clean up sites in Canton, Norwood, Milton, Quincy and Boston. NepRWA will provide essential equipment, and all ages and skill levels are welcome to participate (accompanied by an adult if under 15). Meet & Greet with MoDI Executive Director

Meet John Morton, new executive director of the Paul Revere Museum of Discovery and Innovation (MoDI), on Saturday, April 26, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the historic barn at Paul Revere Heritage Park. Light refreshments will be served. Learn about the future museum’s interactive experiences. Scheduled to open in the fall of 2025, the museum will celebrate ingenuity, exploration, and new ways of understanding the world.

Comedy Show with Johnny Pizzi

The Canton Department of Elder & Human Services (DEHS) is hosting a comedy show at the Canton Town Club featuring Johnny Pizzi, a popular Boston area comedian, on Tuesday, April 29. A light dinner of soup, sandwich and chips will be served at 4 p.m. followed by the comedy show at 5 p.m. Cash bar available. Cost is $14 and pre-registration/payment are required.

Red Cross Blood Drive

The American Red Cross will hold a community blood drive on Thursday, May 1 from 2-7 p.m. at Canton High School, 900 Washington Street. All eligible and new donors are encouraged to give lifesaving blood or platelets to help keep hospitals fully stocked this spring. All who give blood in May will be automatically entered for a chance to win a U.S. trip of choice for two. Additionally, those who give blood from May 1-18 will receive a $20 e-gift card to a merchant of their choice. Canton Greenfest 2025

One and all are invited to the sixth annual intergenerational community celebration of Earth Day on Saturday, May 3 (rain or shine) from 1-4 p.m. at Mass Audubon’s Museum of American Bird Art (MABA) Education Center, located at 963 Washington Street. Overflow parking will be available across the street at CHS. Featured events include a free musical performance with award-winning folk and family musician Alastair Moock at 1:30 p.m., made possible by the Canton Cultural Council; a chance to interact with owls and hawks from Blue Hills Trailside Museum; and a community arts project to celebrate Canton’s Arbor Day Proclamation to become a Tree City USA! Learn about community resilience, sustainability and climate mitigation. We will showcase Canton’s upcoming Climate Action Plan, walking trails, rain barrel program, composting, and natural solutions for excessive rain like bioswales. Experience interactive exhibits, including green job training, retrofitting your home using clean energy, legislative action, CHS student work on climate education and mitigation, and native plants. This event is hosted by Canton Residents for a Sustainable, Equitable Future and co-sponsored by MABA and the CHS Climate Club.

CCC Senior Supper

The Congregational Church of Canton, located at 1541 Washington Street, will host its next Senior Supper on Wednesday, May 7 from 4-6 p.m. Open to all adults ages 60 and over, the monthly Senior Supper offers homemade goodness and a friendly atmosphere. This month’s menu includes chicken pot pie with a side salad, chocolate zucchini cake for dessert, and coffee/tea. The church is handicap-accessible and there’s plenty of free parking. Brookwood Annual Seedling Sale

Brookwood Community Farm will hold its annual seedling sale on May 10 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and May 11 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 11 Blue Hill River Road in Canton. A plethora of seedling varieties and extra farm goodies will be available for purchase. Hear from Brookwood’s community partners and chat with our Master Gardeners on Saturday for valuable tips on maximizing your garden’s potential this year. And as a kick-off to the 2025 Music on the Farm series, special musical guest Skooby Laposky will perform live on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Bring a picnic blanket and enjoy the budding spring weather with this meditative musical plant experience. Canton Heritage Festival

All are welcome to attend the fourth annual Canton Heritage Festival on Saturday, May 17 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (rain or shine) at the Paul Revere Heritage Site, 2 Rolling Mill Way. Free for all visitors, this year’s Heritage Fest will be bigger and better than ever, featuring over 100 vendors selling crafts and homemade goods, a wide variety of food vendors, live performances, reenactors, games and activities for families, inflatable fun, a Copper exhibit/workshop, dozens of community organizations, and more! Free parking is available at the Heritage Lot as well as the Canton Center and Canton Junction MBTA lots, and a free shuttle will run between the Canton Junction lot and the site throughout the event. Canton Garden Club Plant Sale

The Canton Garden Club will hold its annual Plant Sale on Saturday, May 17 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Armando Center at 92 Pleasant Street.
