Summer Nights at Trailside
The Blue Hills Trailside Museum, located at 1904 Canton Ave. (Rte. 138) in Milton, will be opening its doors to the public every Thursday evening for special “Night at the Museum” adventures! Join us for this free, drop-in program featuring hands-on crafts, art-making activities, and a chance to meet some of Trailside’s resident wildlife, including turtles, hawks, owls and river otters. Canton Farmers Market
The Canton Farmers Market is open every Sunday now through October 18 (except Labor Day weekend) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the front lawn of the Rodman building, 960 Washington Street. Each week, you can shop for fresh meat, fish and produce; ready-to-eat food and beverages; specialty foods; prepared foods; and local artisan goods while enjoying live music and kids’ activities. FPUU Summer Chalice Sparkles
First Parish UU-Canton, a Neponset River UU Community located at 1508 Washington Street, invites you to join in any of its lay-led activities this summer for fun and renewal! FPUU calls them “Chalice Sparkles” since the chalice is a symbol of the UU faith tradition, and all events are free and open to the public. Upcoming events include “Let’s Laugh Today” with Bill and Linda Hamaker on Sunday, July 5 from 4-5 p.m. and a screening of the political history musical Suffs with conversation and snacks on Sunday, July 12 from 3 to 5:30 p.m. For more info, email office@fpuucanton.org.

MoDI Book Release Party
The Paul Revere Museum of Discovery and Innovation invites the community to a book release party for I Am Still Ringing: Meet Belle, the 230-Year-Old Paul Revere Bell, a new children’s book by Rev. Donna Spencer Collins, pastor of Groveland Congregational Church. Come at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 27 to hear Rev. Donna read from her book, tour the museum, and ring an authentic Paul Revere bell yourself! This special presentation is included with admission to the museum.

Pride Liberation Seder
Canton temples B’nai Tikvah and Beth David will observe Pride Month at 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 28 at B’nai Tikvah, located at 1301 Washington Street, with a Seder commemorating the 1969 Stonewall uprising in New York City — considered the tipping point for the modern LGBTQ+ civil rights movement. Program and light dinner are free to the community, and donations are welcome. Reservations are required by visiting bit.ly/SASJPrideSeder.
Independence Day Celebration & Fireworks Display
The Canton Parks & Recreation Department invites the community to a celebration of Independence Day and America’s 250th anniversary on Sunday, June 28 starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Irish Cultural Centre at 200 New Boston Drive. Enjoy inflatables and face painting, a live concert featuring Classic Trax at 7 p.m., and a fireworks display at 9 p.m. Food and beverages will be available for purchase at the Irish Cultural Centre Pub. Please note: Coolers are prohibited and there will be no access to the grounds from Ward Well Road.

Red, White & Blue BBQ
Join us at the Canton Senior Center, located at 500 Pleasant Street, for our annual Summer Cook- In on Tuesday, June 30 at 12:30 p.m. Menu includes hamburgers, hot dogs, potato salad, pasta salad and watermelon. Music by Joe Macaluso. Cost is $14 for Canton residents and pre-registration required. Patriotic attire is encouraged!

Independence Day at MoDI
Come visit the Paul Revere Museum of Discovery and Innovation (MoDI) on Independence Day, July 4! Starting at 12 p.m., you’ll have a chance to make your own tri-corner hat, play a little wiffle ball on the lawn, and have a freezer pop — plus all the interactive fun that MoDI always offers! Recreation Summer Concert Series
The Canton Parks & Recreation Department will kick off its free summer concert series with a performance by Tom Petty tribute band Petty Larceny on Wednesday, July 8 at 6:30 p.m. on the lawn in front of the Rodman building. Pack your chairs and blankets for a night of fun for the whole family! Free hot dogs and hamburgers provided by the Canton Playground and Recreation Commission.
