Koelle, Hedwig

Hedwig (Zandt) Koelle, 88, of Canton, passed away at Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton on August 10.

Born in Bronx, New York, she was raised in Deposit, New York. Hedwig, known as Hedy, lived in Canton for 30 years. She was a parishioner of the First Parish Unitarian Universalist in Canton. She loved to cook and bake. She also enjoyed reading about science and history.

Beloved wife of the late John F. Koelle. Loving mother of Jane Elizabeth (Betsey) Koelle of Hudson, Kathryn K. Anderson of Dedham, and John M. Koelle and his wife, Lanah J. Koelle, of Washington, D.C. Sister of Hans Zandt of Walton, NY; August Zandt, Jr. of Binghamton, NY; Robert Zandt of Durham, NC; and Margaret (Zandt) Warner of Rensselaer, NY. Devoted grandmother of Willow Anderson. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

There will be a private memorial at a future date.
