Atlantic Insurance opens new location in Canton

Rick and Bob Gallery take the idea of relationships seriously. They use what they have learned as brothers and partners in Atlantic Insurance Group Agency, Inc., when they deal with their clients. Their motto is “We firmly believe that a great relationship is the best policy.”

The Gallerys grew up in a family of five children in Milton. After serving in the Marines and working as an entrepreneur, Rick, 49, started Atlantic Insurance in Milton 20 years ago.

“I was intrigued by the insurance business,” he said. “I looked at it as an opportunity to be involved with a lot of people that I know and help them out.”

This past spring, the two brothers opened a new location of Atlantic Insurance at 587 Washington Street in Canton, where they both now make their home.

Rick oversees the business and runs the commercial end, while Bob, 41, handles the marketing and other responsibilities. “Great experience working with my brother,” Bob said. “We are eight years apart, and being in business together really brought us closer, not only as brothers but as friends.  We live in the same neighborhood in Canton and have kids the same age. There is no other bond stronger than family.”

Rick agreed. “We’ve always worked well together,” he said. “We have our own responsibilities. We never have any arguments.”

Their agency offers auto, home, life, and business insurance policies. Knowing that clients want to feel confident that they have made the right choice in insurance coverage, the staff at Atlantic works hard to provide great service.

“We have great insurance rates,” Rick explained. “We can offer people better pricing and analysis on what their needs are. They’re getting the best coverage and the best pricing.”

“We focus on the individual who walks in the door or calls on the phone,” said Office Manager Rachel Walsh.

The Gallerys are working hard at their new Canton office to meet the needs of their clients. “We are a relationship-based insurance agency,” Bob said. “This connection we have with our customers is what makes us successful and drives us. Most of our business comes from referrals.”

The two brothers are partners at work and also neighbors in their new hometown. Rick moved to Ponkapoag 12 years ago, and Bob followed his lead and bought a home a few streets away. Rick and his wife, Christine, have two sons. Aidan, 11, will enter sixth grade at the Galvin in the fall and Ethan, 9, will be in fourth grade at the Hansen. Bob and his wife, Michelle, have three children at the Hansen. Son Robbie, 11, will be in fifth grade and twin daughters Sydney and Fay, 8, will be in third grade.

Following in the footsteps of their father, who coached Little League in Milton for 30 years, Rick and Bob have coached their sons’ team, the Orioles, for the past two seasons. The team won the championship in 2011 and made it to the final game this past season.

“This is our home,” Rick said, “where we have our kids in the public school system. These are our friends, family, neighbors. I think when you’re present in a community, it helps get the word out.”
