Flood, Anne

Anne “Carolyn” Flood, 83, of Canton, died peacefully August 16, 2026, after a long and brave battle with dementia.

Carolyn was an avid reader who also enjoyed tending to her gardens. A lover of sun and sand, her favorite moments were soaking up the sunshine by the pool, with her feet in the sands of Cape Cod, or enjoying a rum punch and the view from Barnicle Billy’s in Ogunquit.

When the calendar turned to fall, you could see (or hear) her boisterously cheering for her favorite football teams, the Fighting Irish and the Patriots. She was also an ardent supporter of Canton Youth Football and Canton High School football. Carolyn was a dedicated volunteer and treasurer of the Canton Gridiron Club — a position she held for many years in the mid-1980s and 90s.

She was the devoted wife of the late Daniel J. Flood Jr. Loving mother of Daniel J. Flood III of Stoughton, Michele “Missy” Flood and her husband, Richard Barlow, of Stoughton, Timothy P. Flood and his wife, Sarsha, of Rehoboth, and John H. Flood III and his wife, Kristena, of Canton. Proud “Nany” of Hannah, Joseph, Maggie, Elaina, Alexis, John and Julie. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Carolyn shared a lifetime bond with her best friends, Pat Zeoli and Debbie McDonnell.

The family would like to thank the nurses and the supporting staff at Royal Wayland Nursing & Rehabilitation for their outstanding and compassionate care.
