Fabbiano, Sandra J.

Sandra “Sandy” Jean Fabbiano (Beddows), of Stoughton, formerly of Marlboro, NY, passed away peacefully at her home in Stoughton on September 7, leaving behind a life marked by creativity, devotion, and deep love for her family.

She was born in Mount Vernon, NY, on March 20, 1936. She was known for her quick, sarcastic wit and her artistic flair for drawing and sculpture.

Sandy was the daughter of the late Richard and Jean (Olson) Beddows. She is survived by her son, Michael J. Fabbiano and his wife, Natalie, of Canton; her granddaughters, Kristen Jeanne Harring and her husband, Evan, of Abington and Emily Rose Fabbiano and her boyfriend, Evon DaRosa, of Boston; and her great-granddaughter, Sofia Mae Harring.

She is also survived by her brother, Richard F. Beddows of NY; her nieces, Linda Groce of Pleasant Valley, NY, Helen Hornbeck and her husband, John, of Gardiner, NY, and Belinda Randall and her husband, Rich, of Wallkill, NY; her great-niece and great-nephews, Katie Hornbeck, Garrett Randall, Justin Groce, and Jordan Groce, all of NY; and her goddaughter, Suzie Blake of Albuquerque, NM. Sandy also leaves behind her beloved four-legged friends, her cats, Lovey and Elsa.

Sandy was raised in Pleasant Valley, NY, and spent much of her life in Marlboro, NY, where she raised her son, Michael, before moving to Stoughton 13 years ago. For many years, she worked as a graphic artist for the Poughkeepsie Journal, where her talent and dedication were appreciated by all who knew her professionally. Her work reflected both skill and imagination, and she brought care and thoughtfulness to everything she created.

Beyond her career, she was an artist at heart in every sense. She had a special gift for working with clay sculpture, charcoal, and oils. She also enjoyed collecting and pressing flowers for use in her artwork, blending the beauty of nature with her own creative vision. Sandy loved going to the beach at the Jersey Shore with her family and friends every summer. She was an avid reader who could finish a book a day.

Most of all, she cherished her role as a mother, grandmother, and most recently, great-grandmother. Family was everything.
