Former CDEI chair backs Beckham for Select Board
By GuestDear Editor:
As a founding member and former chair of the Canton Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee (CDEI) and a former member of the Canton Finance Committee, I ecstatically support the election of Julie Beckham for the Canton Select Board on April 7.
Julie and I met in 2020 when she joined CDEI, and a year later an opportunity allowed her to step into the vice-chair role. She was the ‘Robin’ to my ‘Batman’ and always provided thoughtful ideas as the committee created policies, procedures, and programs.
She was (and still is) very instrumental in keeping the CDEI committee relevant in the town of Canton and feels strongly about ensuring that all members of the Canton community feel included and welcomed.
Julie has over 20 years of community advocacy, financial leadership and budget management, coupled with an innate ability to read the room. She’s a critical thinker who also listens, postulates meaningful responses and recommendations, and manages problems with ease.
She hopes boldly!
She thinks strategically!
She inspires intentionally!
She is truly a changemaker, and I believe she will be an amazing Select Board member for the town of Canton.
