Jorgensen, Kenneth M.
By Canton CitizenKenneth M. Jorgensen, 81, of Mexico, Maine, passed away peacefully February 20 at the Bolster Heights Nursing Home in Auburn, ME.
Born in Boston, Ken was raised in Hyde Park and Canton. Ken graduated from Dorchester High School and the New England School of Art in Boston.
Son of the late Jean Jorgensen, brother to John Jorgensen of Canton and the late Karl Jorgensen. Ken leaves behind his wife, Elizabeth Jorgensen (Miller), of Mexico, ME, his sons Emmett Jorgensen of Cumberland, RI and Mark Jorgensen of Herndon, VA, and daughter Emily Rowley (Jorgensen) of Mexico, ME. He also leaves behind five grandchildren.
Ken was previously employed as the art director for the DRK Advertising Agency in Boston before his retirement. Post retirement, he focused on his stained-glass artistry and was a member of the Maine Crafts Association and the Society of Southern Maine Craftsmen, exhibiting and selling his unique, handcrafted stained glass at local craft fairs across New England.
When not working on his stained glass, Ken enjoyed working on the 1864 farmhouse he and Liz called home in Mexico.
Ken requested no funeral service, but he will be remembered via a celebration of life in the summer.
