FBH traveling photo exhibit kicks off this month

The Friends of the Blue Hills’ 2025 Photo Contest drew submissions from all over the area, showcasing the natural beauty, wildlife, and outdoor adventures that make the Blue Hills Reservation such a treasured resource. The winners were announced at the Friends’ annual meeting held on November 6.

Winning photos and other select submissions will be featured in a traveling exhibit around the area, starting at the Milton Public Library for the month of January. The exhibit then moves on to other Blue Hills towns, including the Randolph Intergenerational Community Center (RICC) in February, the Thomas Crane Public Library in Quincy for March, and the Dedham Public Library for April. We hope to see you at one of the venues this spring.

More than 75 photos were entered into this year’s contest, and three winning images for each category were selected by the panel of five judges. Members of the panel were Matt Darcy, professional photographer; Peter Marotta, FBH trustee at large; Waddy Stryker, outdoor instructor and manager of special projects for Elevate Youth; Sturdy Waterman, FBH member and owner of Page Waterman Gallery & Framing in Natick; and state Rep. Richard Wells.

Prizes included products provided by Patagonia Boston and complimentary printing and framing of the winning photos by Page Waterman Gallery & Framing. The Friends of the Blue Hills extends its heartfelt thanks to this year’s contest sponsor, Dedham Savings Bank, whose support made this celebration of local art and nature possible.
