Carreiro, Albert P.

Albert P. Carreiro, 91, of Canton, formerly of Swansea and New Bedford, died December 8, 2025.

As a young man, Al worked for his family’s bakery in New Bedford, Moonlight Bakery, later known as Carreiro’s Homestyle Bakery. He was a proud veteran, serving in the United States Navy, and was a longtime employee of Roache Brothers for over 25 years. He was a member of the Needham Retired Men’s Glee Club and was active in the Canton Senior Men’s Club.

He was the son of the late Jose and Herminia Carreiro. Devoted husband of the late Gerda (Bruno). Loving father of Joseph A. Carreiro and his wife, Monica, of PA. Brother of Manuel Carreiro and Beatrice Mederis. Proud grandfather of Christopher, Andrew and Jonathan Carreiro. Former husband of the late Elsie (Mello) Carreiro.

Visiting hours in the Pushard Family Funeral Home, 210 Sherman Street, on Saturday, December 13, from 2-5 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Funeral services will be private.
