Sullivan, John M.
By Canton CitizenJohn M. Sullivan, 78, of Canton, passed away on November 4, 2025, at Boston Medical Center. Born on February 8, 1947, in Dorchester, John lived a life defined by love, service, and community.
He was the beloved husband of Susan A. Sullivan (Trahan), with whom he shared a devoted partnership. John was a loving father to David M. Sullivan of Tilton, NH, and Cynthia G. Arcand and her husband, Christian, of Dedham. He was a proud grandfather to George Arcand, cherishing every moment spent with him. John is also survived by his brothers Paul Sullivan of Southborough and Robert Sullivan of Sandwich and was predeceased by his brothers Joseph and Timothy Sullivan.
John grew up in Dorchester and graduated from Dorchester High School, where he played hockey and built lifelong friendships. He served honorably in the United States Navy and the National Guard before settling in Canton, where he lived for 45 years and became a respected member of the community.
Professionally, John worked for many years at Stratus Computer Company in Marlboro in sales support. Known for his integrity, humor, and dedication, he was a valued colleague and mentor.
John’s love of music was a lifelong passion. He performed with the Boston Crusaders Drum Corps and the Army National Guard Drum Corps, finding joy and camaraderie in every performance. His musical spirit touched many and brought pride to his family.
He was a former member of the Canton Town Club and a familiar, friendly face at Big D’s in Canton, where he enjoyed connecting with friends and neighbors.
John’s life was rich with love, laughter, and meaningful relationships. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew him, and his memory will continue to inspire and comfort his family and friends.
