Canton Planning Board hearing notice
By Canton CitizenNotice is given by the Planning Board under the provisions of M.G.L. Chapter 40A Sections 5 and 11 and the Canton Zoning Bylaw Section 1.6 that a Public Hearing will be conducted on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at 7:00 PM in Canton Town Hall (Memorial Hall), Salah Meeting Room, 801 Washington Street, Canton, MA.
The Planning Board will provide a Recommendation on Zoning Text Amendments submitted to 2025 Special Town Meeting, relative to Section 9.1 “Floodplain Overlay District” of the Zoning Bylaw. The proposed Text Amendments are to bring Section 9.1 of the Zoning Bylaw in compliance with floodplain management measures that satisfy 44 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Section 60.3(d) of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) regulations.
The complete text relative to the proposed amendments is available for inspection online and on regular business days and hours at the Town Clerk’s office, the Planning Board office, and the Select Board’s office at Town Hall, and at the Canton Public Library.
Any person interested in, or wishing to be heard, on the proposed bylaw amendments should appear at the place and time designated for the public hearing.
