Karol, Minnie G.

Minnie G. Karol, 97, of Canton, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born and raised on the Tuscarora Indian Reservation in Sanborn, New York, she moved to Canton in 1957 with her husband, the late Stephen A. Karol Sr. She lived in Canton for the rest of her life and was a past member of the Canton Catholic Women’s Club. She also worked as a paraprofessional in the kindergarten at the Lt. Peter M. Hansen Elementary School for many years.

She was the beloved wife of the late Stephen A. Karol Sr. Mother of Susan V. Karol, MD, and her husband, William Stinson, MD, of Key Largo, Florida, Stephanie McClellan and her husband, Robert McClellan, of Canton, and Stephen A. Karol Jr. and his wife, Tracy Karol, of Canton. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral Mass on Friday, May 16, at 10 a.m. in St. Oscar Romero Church in Canton. Burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Canton. Arrangements by the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street.
