Sheridan, John F.
By Canton CitizenJohn F. Sheridan Jr., 82, of Canton, died peacefully on August 3, 2024, at home surrounded by family.
A U.S. Army veteran, John co-owned the South Easton Variety Store for many years and was the past treasurer and member of both the Kennedy-Donovan Center in Foxboro and the Knights of Columbus in Stoughton. He was an avid sports enthusiast for all Boston teams. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.
Devoted husband of Jane F. Sheridan (Kelleher) of Canton for 55 years. Loving father of Kevin Sheridan and his partner, Sharon Stemm, of Canton, Maureen (Reen) Sheridan of Canton, Mary Maloney and her spouse, Richard, of Canton, and Ann Marie Holmstead and her spouse, Gene, of Boston. Brother of Linda Keohane of Plainville, Eileen Berry of Stoughton, Kathy Golata of Norton, and the late Patricia Gilgun and Philip Sheridan. Proud grandfather of Caitlin and Hannah Sheridan, Graham Stemm, Tim, Rose and Lily Hazam, and Winnie Holmstead.
A service will be held Thursday (today) at 11 a.m. at the Pushard Funeral Home, 210 Sherman Street. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John’s memory to the Canton Veterans Services Department, 801 Washington St., Canton, MA 02021, or to Old Colony Hospice, 321 Manley St., West Bridgewater, MA 02379.
