Walsh, Robert

By

Robert “Bob” Walsh, 87, passed away on June 2, 2026. Born in Boston, Bob was the son of Edward and Mary Walsh and grew up in the Roslindale neighborhood of Boston. He spent much of his life in Canton, where he was a longtime resident before recently relocating to Raleigh, North Carolina.

Bob dedicated his career to public service as a civil engineer for the city of Boston. He took great pride in his work and in the many contributions he made to the community throughout his professional life. He also served for many years on the board of directors of the Credit Union of Boston.

Beyond his career, Bob was devoted to his family and community. He spent many years coaching Little League in Canton. He loved dancing with his beloved wife, Priscilla, and treasured the time they shared together. In his later years, nothing brought him greater joy than hugs from his grandchildren.

Bob was predeceased by his beloved wife, Priscilla Walsh, and by his brothers Francis Walsh, Edward “Buddy” Walsh, James Walsh, Johnny Walsh, and Richard Walsh.

He is survived by his son, Tim Walsh; his daughter-in-law, Jamie Walsh; his cherished grandchildren, Kathryn and Brendan; and his brothers Billy Walsh, Paul Walsh, and Peter Walsh. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss him dearly. Those who knew Bob will remember his warm spirit, generous heart, and quick wit. He was always ready with a joke — the cringier, the better — that could bring a smile to those around him.

The family of “Boston Bob” would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful caregivers who helped care for him during his final years. Their compassion, kindness, and dedication brought comfort to Bob and his family and will always be remembered with deep appreciation.

Visiting hours in the Pushard Family Funeral Home, 210 Sherman Street, on Thursday, June 11 (today) from 4-7 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. A Mass of Cristian burial will be held on Friday, June 12, at 10 a.m. in St. Oscar Romero Catholic Church, 700 Washington Street. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Bob’s memory to the Snow Approach Foundation at snowapproach.org/donate honoring the cause that touched his life and the lives of those who loved him.
