Petrescu, Alice

Alice Scott Petrescu, 85, of Summerville, SC, formerly of Canton, loving wife of Dan Marion Petrescu, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Nov. 8, with her family by her side.

Alice was born on September 20, 1940, in Washington, D.C., daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson Scott IV and Barbara Alice Wood. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Goucher College in Baltimore, MD. She was a very hard worker and was a marketing specialist with Analog Devices for 26 years.

She enjoyed reading, knitting, music, and book clubs. She donated to numerous organizations and loved technology, shopping, and chatting on the phone with all of her friends. One of her favorite things to do was spending time with family and friends at their Saco River House in Conway, NH. She absolutely adored her pets.

In addition to her husband of 61 years, Dan Petrescu, of Summerville, SC, Alice leaves behind her sons, Bennett Petrescu and his wife, Monica, of Lincoln, RI, and Christopher Petrescu and his wife, Erin, of Summerville, SC, and her granddaughter, Sara Petrescu of Lincoln, RI.

Services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Alice’s name may be made to Hearts for Summerville or Dorchester Paws.
