Boston Mutual named among state’s most charitable

The Boston Business Journal (BBJ) has named Boston Mutual Life Insurance Company, a Canton-based insurance provider, as a recipient of its annual Corporate Citizenship Award.

Boston Mutual Life Insurance Company, a Canton-based insurance provider, has once again been honored by the Boston Business Journal (BBJ) with its annual Corporate Citizenship Award. The recognition celebrates the region’s top corporate charitable contributors. Boston Mutual Life, ranking No. 87 on the list, was recognized alongside fellow honorees at the BBJ’s 20th annual Corporate Citizenship Awards event held last month at Big Night Live in Boston.

This is the seventh consecutive year that Boston Mutual Life has received this prestigious honor from the BBJ. It also marks the seventh anniversary of the company’s Making an Impact program, which has contributed almost 1,500 volunteer hours, over 800 donations, and more than $1.75 million to a variety of charitable causes across the country since it launched in 2018.

This year, 99 companies earned the distinction by reporting at least $100,000 in cash contributions to Massachusetts-based nonprofits in 2024. “Collectively, [these companies] gave more than $416 million in cash contributions — a true example of the business community coming together to help those in need,” said BBJ Market President & Publisher Carolyn Jones. “We are proud to celebrate these organizations who give both money and time to make Boston a stronger and better place for all.”
