Barry M. Okun, 70, of Westborough and formerly of Canton, passed away on Monday, May 6, 2024, in the UMass Memorial Medical Center – Memorial Campus after a short illness.

Barry was born in Boston, son of the late Frank Okun and Genevieve (Portman) Okun and is survived by two sons, Edward “Ted” Okun and his partner, Michelle Kaplan, of Great Barrington, and Andru Okun of New Orleans, LA; a daughter, Emily Osgood and her husband, Stephen, of Trumbull, CT; a brother, Marc Okun and his wife, Carol, of Rochester; a sister, Susan Kulesza and her husband, Kenny, of Higganum, CT; two grandchildren, Rowan Osgood and Nami Osgood; and many other family members who miss him dearly.

Barry graduated from Newton South High School and was an accomplished self-employed photographer. He enjoyed taking rides on his motorcycle, attending live music performances, and enjoying a good meal. He will always be remembered as a loving family man and for his willingness to help anyone in need.

A celebration of Barry’s life will be held at a later date. Contributions in his name may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Great Barrington Rotary, PO Box 565, Great Barrington, MA 01230.
