Rodman for Kids receives donation from Planet Fitness

By

Rodman for Kids, a locally based nonprofit committed to providing at-risk kids with the resources they need to dream, grow and succeed, was recently awarded a $1,000 donation from Planet Fitness in celebration of its new location at 30 Commercial Street in Foxboro.

At a March 5 ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the grand opening, General Manager Becky Zirlen was joined by Jessica Feenan, Rodman for Kids’ director of development, along with local kids supported by the nonprofit — all dancers at Elite Dance in Foxboro — who participated in a workout led by a Planet Fitness trainer. Also in attendance at the ribbon cutting were state Senator Paul Feeney, state Rep. Jay Barrows, Foxboro Town Manager Paige Duncan, and representatives from the Tri-Town Chamber of Commerce.

The new location features state-of-the-art cardio and weightlifting equipment, a dedicated stretching and abs area, free Wi-Fi, and more. The club is open Monday through Thursday from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., Fridays from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Established by the late Don Rodman of Canton, Rodman for Kids works year-round to raise funds for youth-focused charities of all sizes — from passion projects in the incubation stage to established community organizations to hospital pediatric units. In addition to offering financial support, the organization also provides space and programs for collaboration, networking, professional development and best practices for its 40-plus Charity Partners.
