Hello everyone, I’m Mindy Milman, and I’m eager to secure a spot on the Board of Library Trustees to champion your interests. As a proud resident of Canton for over 14 vibrant years, I’ve become intricately woven into the fabric of our community. The library and Canton hold profound significance in my life, with the library serving as the beating heart of our town. I fondly recall accompanying my mom, who relocated here from out of state to reside in an assisted living facility, to the library. Watching her revel in the serenity of the beautiful building, perusing the aisles with her walker, engrossed in large print books and magazines, brought immense joy to both of us. Now, I’m determined to reciprocate that joy by contributing to the library’s future as a trustee.

A little about my background: Armed with a Bachelor of Business Administration, majoring in marketing with a minor in finance, my professional journey has been a diverse and enriching one. From shaping retail strategies as a buyer for TJX, to overseeing district operations at Apparel Ventures Swimwear, and coordinating diabetes programs at Carney Hospital, I’ve flourished in dynamic environments. My tenure as an office manager/financial analyst and executive assistant to the president at Boston Children’s Hospital provided invaluable insights into healthcare administration. At Beth Israel Lahey Health, I wore multiple hats, including serving as a practice assistant and contributing voluntarily in the Cohort Unit during the COVID pandemic. My passion for community engagement led me to organize impactful events, including foundation banquets, a doctor-guest golf tournament and hospital-wide seminars. Recognized for my contributions, I was honored as Outstanding Woman of the Year by ABWA and numerous awards by Toastmasters International.

Why choose me? I’m deeply involved in library activities, regularly attending monthly trustee meetings, participating in events like the Cookbook Club, the 5K Fun Run Committee, book sales and actively contributing to the Library Interior Redesign Committee. I’m a dedicated supporter of the Friends of the Library, raising funds and backing activities that enrich our library. Additionally, I’m an engaged member of the community, serving on the Economic Development Committee, as appointment by the Select Board; volunteering and fundraising for the Paul Revere Heritage Site; and volunteering at the Canton Food Pantry. I joined the American Legion Auxiliary to honor my dad, a proud World War II veteran, and I belong to the Canton Lions Club, the Garden Club and Canton COA Women’s Club.

My extensive involvement in town committees and clubs provides me with a comprehensive understanding of community dynamics. I’m committed to representing the library at public functions and meetings, ensuring its voice is heard loud and clear. I pledge to be visible and proactive within the community, advocating tirelessly for the library’s interests. By electing me as a library trustee, you’re entrusting your voice to a dedicated advocate who will work tirelessly to ensure our library remains a cherished asset for all. Thank you for considering me, Mindy Milman, for this vital role.
