Walter Molis, a respected drafting manager and honored Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War, passed away peacefully in Brockton, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, courage and kindness.

Born on March 16, 1928, in Boston, Walter grew to be a man of exceptional character and work ethic. Walter is predeceased by his wife, Margaret E. Molis (O’Brien), his daughter Patricia M. Desrochers and grandson Ryan Molis. Walter is survived by his son Michael and his wife, Clare, of Braintree, his daughter Cathy and her husband, John, of Franklin, his grandchildren Kellie Desrochers, Erin Chmielinski and her husband, Nick, Molly Desrochers, M. Daniel Molis and Katherine Molis, and many nieces and nephews.

Walter’s career spanned several decades, during which he became known for his meticulous attention to detail and leadership as a drafting manager. His colleagues respected him for his ability to bring out the best in his team and for his unwavering commitment to excellence in every project her oversaw.

A proud veteran, Walter served his country with valor during the Korean War. His time in the Marine Corps instilled in him a sense of duty and honor that he carried throughout his life. His fellow veterans and those who served alongside him will remember Walter for his camaraderie and steadfastness.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Walter was an active member of his community, involving himself in various associations that benefited from his experience and generosity. He loved the time he spent working with the Canton Veterans Services Department on different projects that they needed.

A funeral Mass was held Wednesday morning in St. James Church in Stoughton. Burial St. Mary’s Cemetery, Canton. In lieu of flowers, any donations can be made to the Canton Veterans Services Department, 801 Washington St., Canton, MA 02021. Arrangements by the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street.
