Daniel J. Galvin, 56, of Plainville, formerly of Canton, died unexpectedly Monday, November 13 at home.

Dan worked as a field engineer for Karas & Karas Glass Company in South Boston for over 20 years. He was the son of the late Dr. James Galvin and Patricia Galvin (Moylan). He was the devoted husband of Maryellen Galvin (MacLeod) for 34 years and was her childhood sweetheart. He was the loving father of Daniel J. Galvin, Jr. and his husband, Tyler, of Shrewsbury, Owen R. Galvin of Plainville, and Conor J. Galvin of Plainville. Loving brother of Maryanne Burakoff of Walpole, Nora Galvin of Walpole, Kathleen Lennon and her husband, Tom, of Plymouth, James Galvin and his wife, Rosanna, of Canton, Maura Hershman and her husband, Craig, of Walpole, and Liam Galvin of Walpole.

Dan is also survived by his sister-in-law Suzanne Stevens and her husband, Michael, of Attleboro and David MacLeod and his wife, Amy, of Plainville. He was the brother-in-law of the late Richard H. MacLeod, Jr. He is also survived by many of the best nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visiting hours at the Pushard Family Funeral Home, 210 Sherman Street, on Friday, November 17, from 4-7 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. A funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Martha’s Catholic Church, 227 South Street in Plainville, on Saturday, November 18, at 11 a.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, please think of Dan and make an extra donation this holiday season to the charity of your choice.
