Refugee is a word
A word that lacks one meaning
A word that walks around the world
A word that blocks the stars from gleaming
Refugee…
The word that escaped its country
The word that the U.N. controls
The word that wants to be set free
The word where “secondary” history unfolds
Refugee is when energy is low
And food is rare
When Dadaab is at an overflow
And no one gives
a
single
care.
