Richard G. “Dick” Lane, Sr. of Canton passed away July 11.

Born in Hyde Park, he was raised in Canton and graduated from Canton High School. He was the owner and operator of RG Lane Company for many years before retiring. Dick also owned and operated the Dairy Ranch and Beef Corral in Canton for several years, operated the concession stand at the Canton rink for many years, and cooked at the American Legion in Canton.

He previously coached youth hockey, was active in the Canton Youth Hockey Association, and was a member of the Canton Town Club and the American Legion Post #24 in Canton. He also served as a constable in Norfolk County for several years. In his free time he enjoyed watching movies, having a good meal, working in his yard and on old cars, and spending time with his family.

Beloved husband of Dianne M. Lane (Cogliano). Father of Kelli-Ann Toupin and her husband, Michael Toupin, of Stoughton, Brianne Lane and her partner, Troy Fickett, of Canton, and the late Richard G. Lane Jr. Grandfather of Taylor Lane, Ryan Lane, Madison Gooley, Joseph Toupin, Delilah Fickett and Greyson Fickett. Brother of Douglas Lane and his wife, Gail, of Plymouth, Cindy Beglane and her husband, Tim, of Stoughton, and his late twin brother Stephen Lane. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street, Thursday (today) from 4-7 p.m. Liturgy of the Word will be held at St. Oscar Romero Parish in Canton on Friday, July 14, at 10 a.m. Burial to be followed at Knollwood Memorial Park.
