Canton Food Pantry touched by community support

By

Mothers and daughters of the Blue Hills Chapter of the National Charity League were critical to the success of this year’s Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive.

Dear Editor:

On Saturday, May 13, Canton’s postal workers participated in the National Association of Letter Carriers’ annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. More than 2,200 pounds of non-perishable food items were collected for the clients of the Canton Food Pantry.

A big thank you to the postal workers who collected and transported the items to the pantry and to the members of the National Charity League who volunteered their time to weigh, sort, check the expiration dates, and box the items and/or stock the food pantry’s shelves. And thank you to the many citizens of Canton who generously donated items, as well as all of the food pantry volunteers who came out that day and helped make this food drive such a success.

We couldn’t have done it without everyone’s help. It truly does take a village!

Mary Murray

Canton Food Pantry Coordinator
