Canton celebrates Pride

The Canton Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee (CDEI) helped kick off Pride Month with its second annual flag-raising ceremony on June 1 in front of the Canton Public Library. Hosted in collaboration with the Canton High School and Galvin Middle School GSA clubs, the event served as a public show of support for the town’s LGBTQ residents and a reminder to Canton’s young people to be proud of who they are and embrace their authentic selves. On hand for the event were several town leaders, including members of the Select Board, CDEI and Library Board of Trustees, as well as state Rep. Bill Galvin (shown above at the podium) and state Senator Paul Feeney.
