The weather refused to cooperate, but the mood inside Copper Mill Hall was festive and hopeful as residents of all ages gathered on Saturday in celebration of the Juneteenth holiday.

Sponsored by the Canton Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee (CDEI), the event was hosted by CDEI member Cynthia Holcombe and featured performances by the Marlene Jazz Ensemble, spoken word author and poet Black Like Crystal, and dancers Naomi Akan and Chi Anuforo, as well as readings by GMS students Nyomi Faulk, Norah Francois, and Abigail Francois.
