Student musicians visit State House, Orchard Cove

By

It’s been an eventful past few weeks for Canton’s talented student musicians at the middle and high schools. In early May, the Galvin Middle School and Canton High School orchestras had the pleasure of performing at the Massachusetts State House, and the following week, 20 students from the GMS chorus serenaded residents in enhanced living at Orchard Cove.

The State House trip was organized by GMS music teacher Betsy Pabon, who is pictured above with the orchestra members as well as CHS band/orchestra director Brian Thomas and Canton’s state legislators, Rep. Bill Galvin and Sen. Paul Feeney.

The GMS chorus performers were led by director Emma Carlson and they performed renditions of “Love Story” by Taylor Swift, “You Raise Me Up” by Josh Groban, and selections from the recent GMS musical production of You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown. Orchard Cove residents were delighted to meet with the students during this intergenerational program and hear their talented voices echo through the halls of the senior living community.
