The Skating Club of Boston, New England’s premier figure-skating club and training center, is bringing back their iconic Ice Chips theatrical skating show after a three-year hiatus, with a star-studded event headlined by Olympic champion Nathan Chen.

Canton resident Spencer Howe, along with his skating partner Emily Chan, will be among the featured performers at Ice Chips 2023: Full Throttle on Friday, April 7, at 7 p.m. and Saturday, April 8, at 1 and 7 p.m. The show will be held at the Tenley E. Albright Performance Center at the Skating Club of Boston in Norwood.

Ice Chips 2023: Full Throttle will also showcase a cast of local, national and international competitors performing exciting solo performances and family-friendly group theatrical numbers. This year’s show promises to be especially memorable as it features music from across the decades, made new again with contemporary choreography and fresh energy.

In January, Howe and Chan took home a silver medal in the senior pairs division at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships in San Jose, California. They also finished second at the Four Continents competition in February and recently competed in the World Figure Skating Championships in Saitama, Japan on March 22-26.

Chen, the 2022 Olympic gold medalist, three-time world champion and six-time U.S. national champion, will perform in a rare Boston-area appearance, bringing his signature showmanship and high-energy excitement that have captivated fans of every age from around the world.

“We are thrilled to not only have the world-renowned Nathan Chen here for Ice Chips, but to bring this event back after putting it on hold for three years due to the pandemic,” said Doug Zeghibe, CEO and executive director of the Skating Club of Boston. “We’ve hosted several successful events recently, including the international Skate America competition in October. It’s incredibly rewarding to see skating fans from around the world enjoying skating competitions and theatrical shows in our new, state-of-the-art facility.”
