Cocchi, Karen M.

By

Karen Marie Cocchi passed away peacefully on February 7, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was 52 years old.

Beloved daughter of Robert “Bob” Cocchi and Paula M. (Crehan) Cocchi of Canton, Karen was the loving sister of Janet Cocchi of Canton, Robert Cocchi and his wife, Kathy, of Stoughton, Kathy Riordan and her husband, Tim, of Canton, and dear friend and saving grace Julia Hunter of Canton. She was the proud aunt of Brianna Freeman, Cameron Cocchi, Tyler Freeman, Derek Cocchi, Emily Riordan, Hannah Riordan and Alfred Gillis. She was the niece of Joseph Cocchi of Canton and Al Gillis of Easton and had many other loving family and friends.

Karen was a light to so many — caring, intelligent, witty, and full of life. She loved singing, dancing, laughing, bowling, coloring, reading, and celebrating her birthday. She enjoyed sleepovers at her families’ houses, time spent on Cape Cod, her many happy trips to Florida, including her Disney cruises with her family, arm wrestling with her nephews, cheerleading for Stonehill College, and attending the Tim Tebow Gala.

A 1992 graduate of Stoughton High School, she enjoyed her time spent at Camp Fatima, House of Possibilities, Julia Ruth House, New England Sinai Adult Care program, Bible Class, Stoughton Association of Exceptional Citizens (SAEC), and participating in the Special Olympics for many years.

A funeral was held Tuesday in the Farley Funeral Home in Stoughton. Donations may be made to a scholarship in Karen’s name at Camp Fatima at fatimadonation.campbraingiving.com — please donate to Special Needs Week — or by mail to: Camp Fatima Special Needs Week, 32 Fatima Rd., Gilmanton I.W., NH 03837.
