It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ruth Louise King, 81, of Raynham, on January 17, 2023.

Ruth grew up in Winthrop and was the daughter of the late William King and his wife, Elsie (Collins) King. Ruth settled in Raynham as an adult and worked as a switchboard operator for the Boston Five Cents Savings Bank, and later New England Sinai until she retired.

Ruth enjoyed traveling and hobbies such as knitting. She was an avid animal lover and supported many animal charities. She was also an active participant in her church choir for many years.

Ruth is survived by her sister Carol (King) Keefe and her husband, Thomas Keefe, of Sandwich, and her brother Peter King, and his wife, Linda, of Raynham. She was predeceased by her sisters Sheila (King) Pinkman of Hobe Sound, FL, and Elisabeth (King) Waits of Sedro-Woolley, WA. She is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held in her honor on Sunday, January 29, at 2 p.m. in the First Congregational Church of Raynham, 785 S. Main Street in Raynham. The Pushard Family Funeral Home, 210 Sherman Street, is assisting the family with arrangements. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals vial mail to: ASPCA, PO Box 96929, Washington, DC 20090-6929.
