Town Clerk announces 2023 nomination deadlines

Town Clerk Tracy Kenney has announced that nomination papers for the April 4, 2023 annual town election will be available in the Town Clerk’s office beginning on Tuesday, January 3, at 8 a.m. The deadline to obtain nomination papers is Friday, February 10, at 1 p.m.

Those seeking office in the election must be 18 years of age or older and be a registered voter in the town of Canton. Candidates must also obtain the signatures of at least 50 registered voters in Canton. The deadline to file completed nomination papers with the Board of Registrars is Tuesday, February 14, at 7 p.m.

The offices that will appear on the ballot are as follows:

Select Board: Two 3-year terms

Board of Assessors: One 3-year term

Board of Health: One 3-year term

School Committee: Two 3-year terms

Planning Board: One 5-year term

Trustees of Public Library: Three 3-year terms

Housing Authority: One 5-year term
