Blue Hills Fall Foliage & Sunset Hike

By

Enjoy the season’s finest colors from the summit of the region’s highest hill at the annual Blue Hills Fall Foliage and Sunset Hike on Saturday, November 5.

Co-sponsored by the Friends of the Blue Hills, the Blue Hill Ski Area, and Orchard Cove in Canton, this is the only opportunity to hike down Great Blue at night. Complimentary cider and apples will be served at the top of the mountain, and hikers are encouraged to bring a picnic dinner to enjoy at the summit.

This is a self-guided hike, so participants can arrive at any time. Just make sure to leave time to hike to the top to see the sunset at 5:30 p.m. Afterwards, hikers will walk back down the hill under the ski area lights.

This year, for safety and planning purposes, all participants are asked to RSVP on the Friends of the Blue Hills website at friendsofthebluehills.org/sunset-hike. In addition, all hikers should check in at the ski area at the base of the hill before and after the hike. Hikers should wear sturdy shoes, bring water, and they are encouraged to bring flashlights.

Free parking is available at Blue Hills Ski Area, located at 4001 Washington Street (Rte. 138) in Canton. For more information, email info@FriendsoftheBlueHills.org.
