Friends of Blue Hills celebrates ‘Members Month’

By

The Friends of the Blue Hills is devoted to caring for the Blue Hills’ forests and trails to ensure current and future generations can enjoy all that the Blue Hills has to offer. In honor of the members who are critical to carrying out this mission, the Friends of the Blue Hills is pleased to celebrate “Blue Hills Members Month” this July with exclusive member-only events.

Renowned musician Wayne Potash will perform for FBH members at a special show on July 23.

The entire community is invited to join the Friends as a member and participate in a wide variety of events offered throughout the month of July, beginning this Sunday with a morning yoga session at Brookwood Farmhouse led by expert instructor Allison Masley. Participants will enjoy the sights and sounds of nature as the great outdoors transforms into their yoga studio. In this mindful vinyasa-style yoga class, Masley will guide you to focus on your breath and move from one posture to the next with intention. All experience levels are welcome as postures will be taught as well as enhanced and refined. Please bring a yoga mat if you have one, or indicate that you need a mat at registration.

Other upcoming members-only events include a live family music show with renowned children’s performer Wayne Potash at Blue Hills Ski Area (July 23) and an exclusive guided tour with fire ecologists Caren Caljouw and Alex Entrup from the Division Fisheries and Wildlife that will examine the effects of recent spring wildfires (July 30).

All FBH members are also invited to a special celebration on July 28 from 4-7 p.m. at the new headquarters of Trillium Brewery, located at 100 Royall Street in Canton. At this exclusive event, Friends’ members can drop in at any time to enjoy each other’s company, the late afternoon on Trillium’s lovely patio with a view of the Blue Hills, appetizers and a cash bar. Participants will meet FBH board members and staff — and maybe their next hiking buddy!
