A few ideas for the St. Gerard’s property

By

Dear Editor:

It is my understanding that for years now Canton has had a problem with overcrowding in the schools and has discussed the need to add another school or secure more school space.

With that reality in mind, I would like to suggest that the newly acquired St. Gerard’s property be used to build another school or that the administrative offices be moved there and ‘Building A’ at the high school (Rodman building) be used as classrooms again.

If the town does not want to use the St. Gerard space for education, then it should become one-bedroom senior housing (no children for our school system). To place any homes/apartments with two or more bedrooms would be detrimental as those would only add more children to our already overcrowded school system.

Sincerely,

Donna Iverson-Arata
