Dr. Jaime G. Pareja, 59, of Canton, died peacefully Thursday, April 14, 2022, surrounded by his family.

He was born and raised in Bolivia, but lived most of his life in the Boston area. Jaime was a pulmonologist and a critical care physician for Carney Hospital and was fully dedicated to his patients. He spent most of 2020 treating Covid-related cases. He had a stroke while he was treating a patient in the ICU. He saved hundreds of lives throughout his medical career, but at the end he couldn’t save his own. His passions were soccer, photography and traveling.

Beloved son of Betty Pareja and the late Victor Jaime Pareja, he is survived by his former wife Maria Cabrera-Pareja; his three children, Jaime, Victor and Sofia; his younger sisters, Daisy Pareja-Robison and Jessica Zurita; as well as his nephews, Gerald Robison and Cristian Zurita.

Visiting hours in the Pushard Family Funeral Home, 210 Sherman Street, on Friday, April 22, from 4-8 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, April 23, at 10 a.m. in St. Oscar Romero Catholic Church, 700 Washington Street. Interment Canton Corner Cemetery.
