Evans, Michael T.

By

Michael T. Evans “Dewey” of Canton, formerly of Randolph, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on February 16, 2022.

Born in Boston in 1958, he was the second of four children, survived by his mother Patricia Downey and her husband, Joseph. Michael was predeceased by his father, the late Thomas Evans.

Graduating from Randolph High School, Michael went on to study at Northeastern University.

Michael was the loving husband of the late Lynne Evans. Michael is survived by their son Adam and his wife, Alaina, and his daughter Jamie Pious and her husband, Daniel. Michael was the proud Papa of Jackson, son of Adam and Alaina, and Ruby, daughter of Jamie and Daniel.

As a brother, Michael leaves behind his sister Susan Evans and her husband, Frank Stearns, his sister Mary Lou Ahern and her husband, Frank Ahern, and his brother Thomas Evans. Michael was also a cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews, too numerous to count. Michael also leaves behind an incredible group of childhood friends that he’s loved for more than 50 years.

Michael had a successful career for decades as an executive chef and was most recently a property manager with close family friends, which he loved. He was truly a man that could do it all. He loved golfing, taking the family dog, Duke, for walks, and enjoying a good game of cards with friends. There was nothing he loved more than spending time with Jackson; they were truly inseparable.

Michael was always a generous, friendly, and easygoing guy who got along with everyone. He loved to cook for his family and was best known for his knishes and meatballs. Above all, Michael loved his wife, Lynne; there was nothing he wouldn’t do for her. Their 38-year marriage was a true love story.

He will be sorely missed by all who were blessed to have known him.

Funeral services and visiting hours were held on February 20 and 21 at the Schlossberg Chapel, 824 Washington Street in Canton, with interment immediately after at Sharon Memorial Park.
