Teague, Joseph N.

Joseph Nicholas Teague Sr., 76, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2021, at his home in Murrell’s Inlet, South Carolina, surrounded by his loving wife, daughters and granddaughter.

Joe was born on February 4, 1945, and was a native of Canton until retiring to South Carolina in 2004. While attending Canton High School, he met the love of his life, and wife of 58 years, Florence E. Teague. He spent his career in the auto parts industry and was a longtime coach for CFA/Pop Warner football and girls softball. As a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Joe was often found at the Legion on Saturdays enjoying time with his friends. A die-hard New England Patriots fan, Joe was a season ticket holder from the early 1970s until moving to South Carolina. Joe also had passion for barbecuing and loved making his famous ribs for all of his friends and family when they visited.

In addition to his wife, Joe is also survived by his children, Joseph Teague and his wife, Shari, of East Bridgewater, Michael Teague and his wife, Renee, of South Lake Tahoe, CA, Joanne Sullivan and her husband, James, of Canton, and Jennifer Coleman and her husband, Special, of Fayetteville, NC. Lovingly known as Po, he also leaves his grandchildren, Whitney Teague, Nicholas Sullivan, Courtney Teague, Amanda Sullivan, Lane Niehus, Anna Teague, Molly Niehus and Dominic Teague, as well as his sisters Anne Doody of Canton and Elaine Ares of Foxboro. He is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Louise Teague, of Canton, his sister Marie Werry of Sacramento, CA, and his brother Floyd Teague of Norwood. He is also survived by countless friends and family members.

A Celebration of Life to commemorate Joe will be held on February 19 from 12-4 p.m. at the American Legion Post 24 Hall, 950 Washington Street in Canton. In honor of his love for the New England Patriots, please show your pride and wear your Patriots gear to celebrate.
