With its donation of $2,460, Bank of Canton has completed Canton High School’s fundraising effort to cover the cost of renovating its arts courtyard. The renovation project, scheduled to break ground in the spring, will include the installation of new mulch beds, plantings and riverbed stone, along with trimming back and relocating plants within the current gardens and cleaning the concrete patio areas.

The renovated courtyard will be utilized as an outdoor learning space and classroom, connecting the Art and Performing Arts building hallways.

“We’re very grateful to Bank of Canton for its generous donation,” said Patricia Palmer, PreK-12 visual arts coordinator and a teacher at Canton High School. “The project will not only improve the aesthetics of the courtyard, but expand our usable outdoor classroom space. We’re very excited to make this happen for our students.”

“Supporting our local schools has always been important to us,” commented Stephen P. Costello, president and CEO of Bank of Canton. “We’re proud to make this contribution to Canton High School’s renovation efforts.”

Since 2005, Bank of Canton has given more than $2.57 million to local charities and nonprofit organizations through donations and sponsorships. In recent years, the bank has also helped fund Canton High School’s new baseball scoreboard, LED stage lights, and concert piano. In 2021, the bank was recognized with a Corporate Citizenship Award from the Boston Business Journal for the third straight year.
