Overwhelming gratitude for ‘very’ good Samaritan

By

Dear Editor:

I want to take a moment to publicly thank the very good Samaritan who found my purse at Shaw’s Supermarket two weekends ago and then took the time out of their day to return it to the Canton Police Department.

After going back to Shaw’s and looking everywhere for the purse, I had all but given up hope and was getting ready to start making calls to cancel my credit cards when I decided to make one last stop at the police station.

I certainly did not expect to  see my purse again, but sure enough, there it was, untouched and exactly as I had left it. My phone, eyeglasses, credit cards, cash — everything was still inside and I cannot describe how happy and relieved I was.

So whoever you are who found my purse and brought it to CPD headquarters, I offer my sincerest thanks and gratitude. It was a simple gesture but one that will not soon be forgotten. With this one kind and selfless act, you didn’t just make my day; you made my entire Christmas.

Sincerely,

Claire Joyce
